Garretstown is considered one of the better bass beaches in the Kinsale area. Work the surf with plugs and spinners on the flooding tide for bass. Sandeel and crab baits on a flowing trace also produce. The road bridge at the western end comes alive in winter — codling, dabs, and coalfish taken on bottom rigs through November and February.
